Suburban Mayhem

My Faith is getting back to it's roots. That is, it's going to be an occasional blog focusing on My Faith (funny that) or rather questions, revelations and insights to my faith. Don't hold your breath for much content tho....

In the meantime, if you prefer my wacky sense of humour, my taste in design and culture, do check out my new home over at Suburban Mayhem.

Should have used Wordpress. but other that that it's ok.

...another plus of wordpress... no word verification on comments, and still no spam!

Rhett... I love you, even if you have been sucked into the cult of wordpress blogging. Blogger has spam protection, I just choose to use word ver instead.... call it a personal choice :o)

WordPress is a much better system... and WordPress.com hasn't been guilty of selling out subversives in China :)

WordPress is the Mac of the blogging world while Blogger represents the PC ;)

The bummer about using WordPress.com is the inability to mess with the code.

I would have to say that your last statement Frank, puts WordPress in the PC camp and Blogger in the Mac camp :p

Yeah, I contemplated not putting it there.... but figured WordPress gives me no need to play with the code where Blogger did... in much the same way Mac's don't need much/any tampering with behind the scenes whereas PC's need their users to be relatively proficient at fixing them up... much like Blogger :P

Nice. I like the new look. That header is cool.

TYVM.

To be honest, I was browsing through blogs using the Blogger 'Next Blog' button and I came across this blog that had a background image and a white background for the text area. So I looked at the source code and after a little tweaking I got it to work on my blog!

And that my friend is why I'm still with Blogger.

fair enough... I just can't be bothered with the temptation of that. I've got enough places where I can play like that :)

The best thing wordpress offers (besides much better templates) is a far superior wealth of stats. Finding out your most viewed post, higest refferers for any given period, most used search terms to find your blog etc is all one click away.

And yes, I used sitemeter on my old blog but I find wordpress offers more helpful info more easily.

Rhett - I only have site meter on here for nostalgia.... google analytics is the way of the future...

It's interesting that you WordPress fellas get more protective of your blogging platform than Mac users do of their Computer system... ;o)

Actually I think Frank hit the nail on the head: Wordpress = Mac, Blogger = PC.

Wordpress has a smaller but more loyal following, it has a much better designed front-end and it looks prettier, it's easy to just jump on in.

Blogger is way less aesthetically pleasing, is used by the massess, and is more of a "serious" tool in that you can change more stuff if you are a computer-geek.

Whatever ;) You clearly haven't spent enough time around Mac lovers like Scott Kelso.

Also, let's not forget that you are a WordPress user as well... Filmguide isn't running on thin air :) It couldn't have been running on Blogger with the domain name pointing to it... but no, you wanted the real deal.

Now.... lets fight!

HAHAHAHAHA! :)

That was meant to say "it could have been running on blogger..."

Now... lets fight!

Well we all know you and Rhett are closet Mac lovers...

As for WordPress, I was commenting from a hosted blogging platform, not an engine to run a professional site.....

Now go comment on my new blog already!!

I'm not a closet Mac lover... I've expressed that sentiment on the radio. I'm just yet to own one :)
