Just Got Back From Mars Hill…

…where Rob Bell was speaking from Luke 17:7-10

“When a servant comes in from plowing or taking care of sheep, does his master say, ‘Come in and eat with me’? No, he says, ‘Prepare my meal, put on your apron, and serve me while I eat. Then you can eat later.’ And does the master thank the servant for doing what he was told to do? Of course not. In the same way, when you obey me you should say, ‘We are unworthy servants who have simply done our duty.’”

Interesting stuff…

Funny thing is though, and probably not surprising to any of my readers is that I haven’t actually been to Mars Hill.

But thanks to Apple iTunes I was able to down load some stuff from Mars Hill, including a couple of Rob Bell sessions.

Sweet.

I’m loving Apple.

ummmm... you can download the weekly Mars Hill sermons onto any computer without iTunes... some of us have been doing it for a while now ;o) Apple doesn't have the monopoly on that one.

On the sermon though... haven't listened to that one. What did Rob say about that passage?

Thanks servant.

I'm not as cool as you so I've only just found out that I can enjoy a little more of Rob bell.

Also, I'm pretty sure that I didn't claim that Apple has the monopoly, only that it was through iTunes that I made the Rob Bell discovery.

But hey, I know that your tongue is firmly planted in your cheek.

I'll talk to you about the passage tomorrow.

awesome.... yeah, my tongue got a little stuck there ;o)... sadly, we can't all me as cool as me.... or is that, thankfully... for the good of humanity?

Cool to hear you've found the sermons. Isn't it awesome how small the world has become because of the net? You can pretty much pick your teachers now and listen to them regularly.

Does this mean we don't need to go to church any more, 'cause we can pick and choose what we want to listen to on a Sunday....

pretty much... if church is only about listening to a speaker....

Actually, I go to church for the food, oh and the company is good when I'm there...

Hahahaha..... nah, those cool little downloads from Bell, McManus etc are cool for listening to at work, in the car, etc.... good for replacing reading books or watching TV... but ya gotta go to church for more than the speaker, theres the fellowship of the saints (is there a better way of saying that without sounding like a religious nut?!!), accountability, atmosphere, and a number of Biblical reasons I'm sure... ;o)
